2020 - 20 November - Release #46

Pinpointe - Release 46 (November 2020) - Overview

Release 46 adds some new functionality and improvements

A few of the major improvements are:

  • Pinpointe has updated and expanded its API call set to not only include several new accessible resources, but now also provides its calls in both XML and JSON syntactical formats.

  • Pinpointe is now an integrated application partner with PieSync. PieSync provides an easy-to-use method of syncing customer data across a user’s various applications. For example, a new customer who signs up on a user’s Shopify account can now have their contact information, such as an email address, automatically synced over to the user’s Pinpointe account. You can visit PieSync’s website at www.piesync.com to find which third-party applications are part of PieSync’s growing list of over 250 partners, as well as pricing for their service.

Pinpointe provides a support doc to help you get started with using PieSync with your Pinpointe account.

  •  Users can now directly download a PDF version of their saved campaigns via an option in the application.

  • Users can access a new suite of campaign metrics called “Campaign Insights” under the main “Statistics” tab. This new feature offers up to 24 different charts and related tables that present aggregated stats for up to 1,000 of the most recent campaigns sent.

  • Users can now purchase a different Pinpointe plan directly from within the “Account Settings” => “Manage Plan” area of their application.

Detail Review

New Features

[PINPOINTE-1841] - Customers can now place an order and manage their subscription within their account (Account Settings tab)

Users may now purchase various Pinpointe plans directly from within their accounts. To begin, the user should click the “Account Settings” option after moving their cursor over the avatar icon at the top right when in the application. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

This will open the ACCOUNT SETTINGS page. The user should click the “Manage Plan” option on the far left vertical menu, then click the “Subscriptions” option in the horizontal menu that appears. The first group of plans presented are the current account plans that are either active or were cancelled. The system allows a user to reactivate a cancelled plan. See Fig 2 below.

Fig 2

Further down the  page, the user will see a list of additionally available plans they can select from. See Fig 3 below.

[PINPOINTE-1833] - New Reporting Features: ‘Campaign Insights’ - Provides in-depth  analysis of campaign results over time. This is an ‘early release’ for  customers

Users may now review 24 different metric categories in our new Campaign Insights reporting feature. To start, click on the main “Statistics” tab and select the “Campaign Insights” option. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

The system will then present the user with 24 separate graphs showing a distribution of the respective results along with an average trend line. See Fig 2 below for an example of the first six graphs presented. Please note that these graphs use the most recent 1,000 campaigns sent.

Fig 2

A user may select any graph thumbnail by clicking on it. A separate popup window will appear center- screen showing a larger representation of that graph. See Fig 3 below.

Fig 3

Beneath the graph image thumbnails, the user will find a list of the 20 most-frequently appearing words that were in the top-performing campaigns in terms of engagement, and a list of the 20 most-frequently appearing words that appeared in the lowest performing campaigns. See Fig 4 below.

Improvements

[PINPOINTE-1125] -  Exporting Contacts: Export Contacts in Background - Send email with link once completed

Users can now export large contact lists as a background process, thereby allowing the user to perform other tasks in the application simultaneously. The application will warn / prevent the user from performing certain tasks that would cause a conflict while the export is in process.

The contact threshold is 5,000 or greater. If that threshold is exceeded, the user will see the “Start Background Exporting” option button. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1870] - Exporting Contacts: Export Contacts in Background - Add Export Queue UI

Users may now track the progress of their database/list/segment exports, and if so desired, be notified via email when the export has completed and the export file is ready for download. The initial phase of exporting a contact population will inform the user that the export process is pending. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

Once the export has begun, “ExportStatus” will show as In Progress”. See Fig 2 below.

Fig 2

Once the export is complete, the status will change to “Completed” and the user will see a link to allow downloading of the export file to their local system. See Fig 3 below.

Fig 3

If the user opted to have a notification email sent to them upon the export’s completion, Fig 4 below shows an example of the sent email. The email also contains a link to download the completed export file.

Fig 4

[PINPOINTE-1708] - Drips: Allow more than 99 hours to be entered as "After the contact has been on my database for" field

Users can now specify up to 9,999 hours after a contact’s subscription date (date added to the database) or after a custom field date. This allows the user to specify very specific drip start times longer than 99 hours out. See Fig 1 below:

[PINPOINTE-1457, 1806, other] - Various security and performance enhancements

Several application modifications and updates have been applied to improve the security and enhance the performance of the Pinpointe application.

Bug Fixes

[PINPOINTE-1845] - Account settings: Viewing Account Settings loaded very slowly

This issue has been resolved.

[PINPOINTE-1849] - Imports: Importing a list of contacts occasionally displayed a spurious  ‘datatables’ error message

This issue has been resolved. This action no longer results in an error message being displayed during the attempted import.

[PINPOINTE-1850] - Builder: PDF attachments were no longer attached when a campaign was re-edited then saved

This problem has been resolved.

Please Note: The resolution of this problem does NOT correct the issue with any newsletter created with a PDF attachment before the “fix date”. The user should delete the original attachment and reattach the PDF.

[PINPOINTE-1867] - Builder: ‘Save Block’ feature occasionally failed and resulted in frozen window

This problem has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1864] - Builder: Show HTML button was missing from sidebar

This problem has been fixed. The button is now available in its customary location. See Figure 1 below.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1865] - Builder: Editing and then saving images with the image editor was saving the image in an incorrect location

This problem has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1866] - Builder: Preset Blocks button was missing from sidebar

This problem has been resolved.

[PINPOINTE-1877] - Builder: In certain scenarios, editing external images produces a JS console error, freezes the builder

This issue has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1858] - WYSIWYG Editor: “Import HTML” feature popup did not show the file selection and upload buttons

This issue has been resolved. The file import popup now displays the correct options. See Fig 1.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1861] - WYSIWYG Editor: Copying a newsletter with images that are in a  sub-directory, fails with a ‘... directory does not exist’ error message

This problem has been resolved. The newsletter was actually copied but the system incorrectly displayed an error message.

[PINPOINTE-1851] - Campaigns: Publishing a newsletter as Admin does not properly copy the associated images and image directory structure

This issue has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1852] - Drips: Copying an existing newsletter for use in Drip campaign can fail in rare cases where a directory does not exist

This problem has been resolved. If a newsletter had been created but never re-edited, the system would show a blank canvas that newsletter was used as the template for a new Drip newsletter. All campaigns, whether re-edited or not, can now be successfully used as a template for creating Drip newsletters..

[PINPOINTE-1863] - Drips: When re-editing a Drip campaign based on a custom date  field, the date trigger will revert to using the database subscribe date

This issue has been fixed. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1842] - Master Unsubscribe: Repeated master unsubscribing by a contact results in additional notification emails to database owner

This problem has been fixed. Once a contact selects “Unsubscribe from all”, subsequent master unsubscribing from other saved emails will no longer trigger additional unsubscribition notifications to the database owner.

[PINPOINTE-1839] - Chargebee: Various issues in production release

This problem has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1894] - Chargebee: Empty Billing Address fields are not set, throw error
