Pinpointe - Release 39 (September 2019) - Overview

Release 39 adds some exciting new functionality and improvements

A few of the major areas of focus are:

  • Expanded Search filter rules

  • Ability to automatically receive statistical reports on individual campaigns after the first seven days of being sent.

  • Additional informational data such as “selected send-from domain” when reviewing send parameters for a campaign, and applicable “domain” for each contact when exporting a database or list into a CSV file.

New Features

[PINPOINTE-1390] - Segments: Add Search Date Added <, > ... Days Ago (ie - how old is the contact?)

“Time Since Added” and “Time Since Updated” filter rules have been added to user-selectable filters for searches. These new filter rules are applicable to the creation of lists, segments and autoresponders. Fig 1 below shows an example of the added filters using the “Search" feature.

[PINPOINTE-1323] - Add date range for heatmaps

A selectable date range has been added to the heatmap chart presented on the account landing page. The user may select a predefined reporting range or create a custom date range. See Fig 1 below.

[PINPOINTE-1418] - Reporting: Add option to send summary email for campaigns 7 days after campaign completes

Under the “Account Settings” page, a user may now elect to receive a report covering the initial seven days of activity from the date of first send on individual campaigns. User may further elect to receive a summary report, a more detailed report or both. See Fig 1 below for the “Account Settings” page and Fig 2 for an example of a summary report.

[PINPOINTE- 1507] - Sending: Add 'From Address' in the final check page

On “Pre-flight Check” page, the send-from address for the campaign has been added to left-hand list. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-748] - Export: When exporting contacts and stats details, include the 'domain name' column

This contact attribute has been added to the exportable data. See Figs 1 and 2 below.

Bug Fixes

[PINPOINTE-1387] - Timezone issue due do Daylight Savings Time

For those locations observing Daylight Savings Time, there was a one hour mismatch between actual local time and application system time in certain situations, such as when scheduling a campaign to be sent. This issue has been resolved.

Application system time will now match actual user local time. As an example, Fig 1 below shows the scheduled send time for a campaign, which does match the actual local time. Two minutes later, the system time reflects the correct local time that the campaign completed sending. See Fig 2.

[PINPOINTE-1481] - Importing CSV files using UTF-8 format causes errors in Bulk Delete / Unsubscribe / mark as Bounced

Importing a list of email addresses in the CSV UTF-8 format for use in bulk deleting / unsubscribing / marking as bounced caused an error. The system required a “plain” CSV format.

This issue has been fixed. The application will now accept both “plain” CSV and UTF-8 CSV formats.

[PINPOINTE-1519] - Forms: Edit/Create any form type - reordering fields results in failure

This issue has been resolved.

In Fig 1 below is a new Modify Preference form with the original order of the included fields:

Fig 1

In Fig 2 below, the field order has been successfully modified by dragging the desired fields to their new position. Clicking on the “Continue” button correctly advances the user to the next page.

Fig 2

[PINPOINTE-834] - Custom Fields: Sort by ‘Date Created’ does not sort correctly

This problem has been fixed.

A user can now sort Custom Fields by the date created in either ascending or descending order of date. Fig 1 below shows an example of sorting by ascending order (oldest to newest date created).

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1288] - Custom Fields: If canceling before saving a new custom field, the Name is added anyhow

This problem has been resolved.

If the user cancels the custom field creation process at any point before clicking the “Save” button in the third and final step, the new custom field name will not be added to the list. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1538] - Import Contacts: Failure during import when creating new Custom Field on the fly; application locks

Contact import process would lock up during on-the-fly Custom Field creation. See Fig 1 below which illustrates where in process the lock up occurred.

This issue has been resolved.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1547] - Email Reports:  Re-enabling themselves after manually disabling and saving

This problem has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1451] - Triggers: Non-date-based triggers do not fire their action events

This problem has been fixed

Non-date-based triggers will now initiate the associated actions, such as sending another campaign if the trigger campaign is opened. Fig 1 below shows the non-date-based trigger options in the application.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1518] - Triggers: If User Subscribes to A then Unsubscribe from B Doesn't Trigger

This issue is a subset of PINPOINTE-1451 above and has been resolved. The trigger in question was “Based on an email subscription”.

[PINPOINTE-1523] - Triggers: Custom Field Date Triggers Do Not Always Fire

This problem has been resolved. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1512] - Builder: Rendering images in mobile mode in Previewer are less than native screen width

In certain mobile device / email client combos in the Previewer, a campaign image wider than the device’s screen width would not fill the entire available space.

This issue has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1525] - Builder: Application no longer allows justification settings on a per-paragraph basis in a text/subject block

This problem has been fixed.

The Builder now allows the user to add separate titles or text paragraphs to the same title / text block and justify each title / paragraph independently using the WYSIWYG toolbar.

In Fig 1 below, the top title has been highlighted, and using the toolbar, set to a center-aligned justification.

Fig 1

In Fig 2 below, the second title has been selected and set to a right-hand justification.

Fig 2

In Fig 3 below, the top text paragraph has been left at the default left-hand justification but the second paragraph has been set to center-aligned.

Fig 3

[PINPOINTE-1489] - User Account Settings: Save buttons only save current tab, cause checkboxes to uncheck

This issue has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1439] - Webhook for Bounces does not send POST request to user / data consumer for manual or dropdown-selected bounces

This problem has been fixed.

“Contact has bounced” webhook is now triggered not only by an actual bounced email during delivery, but also when user manually marks a contact as “bounced” using the drop down list, selecting “Mark as bounced” and clicking “Go”. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

“Contact has bounced” webhook is also now triggered by user selecting “edit” for that contact in the database, selecting “Bounced” from the drop down list for the “Status:” field and saving the selection. See Fig 2 below.

Fig 2

[PINPOINTE-1501] - API: Calls to AddSubscriberToList that will update an existing subscriber fails

This issue has been resolved.

[PINPOINTE-1543] - API: Custom field handling doesn't work in several methods

These issues have been resolved along with a general update of API code.

[PINPOINTE-1480] - Statistics - AE Link Stats don't display contacts who clicked AE links

This issue has been fixed.

Email addresses of those campaign recipients who click a link within a drip campaign email will now appear in the Email Address section of the Link Stats report. See Fig 1 below.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1487] - Reporting: Fix Date Selector Ranges to Various Reports

The problem has been fixed.

The Date Selector tool allows the user to select from a specified range of time frames or construct a custom time frame, and then portray the appropriate data. See Fig below for an example report.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1488] - Autoresponders: Stats -> View AR Stats -> View Unsubscribes shows all database unsubscribes

This problem has been resolved.

The report now only shows those recipients that unsubscribed from the autoresponder (drip) campaign as opposed to all unsubscribes from the target database. See Fig 1 below for an example of the report format.

Fig 1

[PINPOINTE-1493] - Stats: The Aggregated Stats does not display the donut graph correctly

This issue has been fixed.

The “donut” graph included in the Summary Report on an account landing page has been modified to reflect the correct data.

[PINPOINTE-1502] - Stats: Multiple issues with split test reporting

These problems have been resolved.

[PINPOINTE-1508] - Statistics: PDF Generation failing in some situations

This problem has been fixed.

[PINPOINTE-1539] - Surveys: Manage and Create Surveys Broken; Leads to Error Page

This issue has been resolved.
