The Added to Database event will add the contact to the Journey funnel when that contact is added to the target database (Fig 1).

A newly added contact will be added to the Journey funnel whether it's added to the database via:
- CSV import
- API call
- Manually
To add a contact via subscription form submission, you would need to add the Event: Submitted a Form, and make sure the logical operator rule is set to OR (Fig 2).
