Unsubscribe Links
Pinpointe gives you a couple of different options as far as how you go about providing your contacts the ability to unsubscribe from your marketing emails. To remain in compliance with all applicable email privacy laws (ECPA, CAN-SPAM), Pinpointe requires that you must provide a means by which your email recipients can opt out of receiving future emails from you, either in part or in whole.
The easiest way to achieve this is to include the Pinpointe provided "Unsubscribe" link within the body of your email template, whether you are using the Drag & Drop Builder or WYSIWYG Editor to construct your emails. The examples that follow are from the perspective of the Drag & Drop Builder since that is the more commonly used tool of the two.
All of the Builder's pre-made email templates already contain the "Unsubscribe" link. In addition, two of the Footer Basic Blocks contain the "Unsubscribe" link by default. The example below was constructed using such a block (Fig 1).

Unsubscribe Form
When your email's recipient clicks the "Unsubscribe" link, a form is brought up in another browser tab (Fig 2).

These forms have many configurable areas including the following:
- Header
- Email address
- Associated database the recipient belongs to
- Option to unsubscribe from ALL future mailing
- Option to pause the subscription
- Button colors
Editing the Default Unsubscribe Form
To edit the Default Unsubscribe form, on the Navigation Menu on the left, click Resources -> Custom Unsubscribe (Fig 3).

On the Custom Unsubscribe page, you can make a lot of changes (Fig 4):
Fig 4
- Customize Form Language: The default is English.
- Customize Page Operation: Limit the Unsubscribe options recipients will see.
- Show Only Unsubscribe from All: We recommend you do not use this option. If users select this, they will be unsubscribed from all lists and databases. This is an "all-or-nothing choice".
- Display Databases: This lets recipients either unsubscribe from all or unsubscribe from the database this email campaign was sent to.
- Display Lists (Customize): This lets recipients either unsubscribe from all or unsubscribe from lists which offers more specificity than unsubscribing from a database.
- Customize Color: Change the color of the buttons on the Unsubscribe Page
- Customize Header:
- Display an image/logo: Display an image or logo as the header to the Unsubscribe Page; you'll need to click on Upload Image to add your image.
- Display text: Display text in the header.
- No header: Display no header.
- Custom HTML: Customize surrounding HTML and CSS of the Unsubscribe Page.
- Save/Preview/Reset/Cancel: Save changes to the Unsubscribe Page, Preview changes, Reset changes to default setting, or Cancel (don't save) changes.
Once you have modified the form to your liking, you may click the "Preview" button to review it, then click "Save" to make your alterations permanent. You may also reset the form back to its default parameters by clicking "Reset".
