Dragging and dropping a Basic Block adds a basic block to your email (Fig 1).

There are several types of basic blocks.
Some basic blocks are Empty, meaning you'll need to drag your own Widgets into them (Fig 2):
- Empty One Column: Empty blocks consisting of 1 column.
- Empty 2 Column: Empty blocks consisting of 2 columns.
- Empty 3 Column: Empty blocks consisting of 3 columns.

Other basic blocks are Pre-Populated, meaning they already have widgets inside of them ready for you to edit (Text, Image, etc.) (Fig 3):
- Preheaders: Pre-populated blocks that should go at the beginning of an email.
- Headers: Pre-populated blocks with an image that should go at the beginning of an email after a preheader.
- 1 Columns: Pre-populated blocks consisting of 1 column.
- 2 Columns: Pre-populated blocks consisting of 2 columns.
- 3 Columns: Prepopulated blocks consisting of 3 columns.

Basic Blocks can be edited by clicking on them, then clicking on Block Settings (Fig 4).

In Block Settings, you can do the following (Fig 5):
- Save Block: Turn this block into a Saved Block.
- Read Only: Toggle the block into Read Only (default is OFF)
- Don't Stack Mobile: Toggle if columns are stacked on mobile (default is OFF)
- Swap Columns: Swap the position of columns.
- Colors: Adjust the background and body color of the colors.
- Typography: Adjust settings like font family, weight, and alignment for both the Title and Body Text in the block.
- Spacing: Adjust spacing in the block.
