Triggered emails are emails that are send out after someone completes an action. You can set a triggered email as a stand-alone or as part of a series that will be sent out at a set time after a person subscribes to your contact list or completes another type of action. 

Triggered campaigns can be set to trigger based on several criteria including dates, a recipient opening a campaign, or a recipient clicking on a link within a campaign.
